The Connaught Trust is delighted to have supported Barrosa Company, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force, with grant funding to purchase two camouflage pop-up gazebos that will enhance training and outdoor activities for cadets across the region.
The new gazebos provide essential shelter for cadets, adult volunteers and equipment during fieldcraft exercises, training weekends, camps and community events. Designed for use in all weather conditions, they create valuable space for administration, welfare support and instruction, helping to ensure activities can continue safely and effectively whatever the conditions.
Barrosa Company is committed to providing challenging and rewarding opportunities for young people, helping them develop confidence, leadership skills, teamwork and resilience through a wide range of military-themed training and community activities.
The addition of the gazebos will make a significant difference to the experiences that can be offered to cadets, particularly during outdoor exercises where protection from the elements is essential. The funding demonstrates how relatively small investments can have a lasting impact, improving both the quality of training and the welfare of those taking part.
In thanking the Connaught Trust for its support, Barrosa Company highlighted the importance of grant funding in helping cadet units continue to deliver high-quality training and community engagement opportunities throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The Connaught Trust is proud to support cadet and reserve units across its area of benefit, helping them acquire equipment, improve facilities and deliver activities that benefit both service personnel and young people. We are pleased that this funding will contribute to the continued success of Barrosa Company and the cadets they serve.
