We're proud to share that our unit has received a generous grant from The Connaught Trust, which will help us invest in much-needed new equipment for the band.
Over the past few years, our cadet band has come a long way -from a handful of first timers to playing at national events, including the Trafalgar Parade London and even a performance in front of HRH the Duke of Kent. We've also teamed up with Poole unit to win the Area Band Competition two years running.
Being in the band is about more than just music. It builds teamwork, leadership, and confidence - skills that will stay with our cadets for a long time.
This funding means we can buy new drums, bugles, bells, and everything else needed to keep growing - plus one very exciting leopard skin (don't worry, not real fur!) for our bass drummer's uniform.
Thank you to The Connaught Trust for believing in what we do. This will make a real difference for years to come.
