Portsmouth Grammar School Combined Cadet Force (CCF) has received a £2,000 grant from The Connaught Trust towards the purchase of new webbing vests and bergens, helping to enhance cadets' experiences during fieldcraft and outdoor training activities.

The new equipment allows the school to deploy up to 40 cadets into the field on any given camp, providing modern, practical kit to support a wider range of training opportunities.

Year 10 cadets were pictured using the equipment during their October 2025 camp at SERFCA's Jersey Camp on the Isle of Wight.

Contingent Commander Paul Bristow expressed his appreciation for the funding:

"This was such an amazing gift for our children to enhance their experiences while taking part in CCF activities."

Portsmouth Grammar School CCF extended its sincere thanks to The Connaught Trust for its generosity and continued support.
