The weather was perfect for the afternoon Hamtun Quest Rowing race to help raise funds for the unit with the Cadet team rowing their way to victory...

After the race was completed it was time for the official opening of the new pontoons.

The pontoon expansion project has been a mammoth undertaking with a great effort from the UMC Fundraising and organising. With help from our supporters, the pontoons were put in at the end of May and we were honoured to have the Lord Mayor of Southampton Valerie Laurent cut the ribbon to officially open them.

Our grateful thanks go to the Connaught Trust, MSSC, Terry Dyer and Sally Preston MBE for their support in getting the project finished.

We finished the evening with a delicious Hog roast provided with grateful thanks by the Southampton Shipowners association.

An amazing afternoon and evening was had by all and the Cadets are looking forward to using the extra space provided for the rest of the boating season.
